Stand out when responding to social signals

Social media provides a wealth of information about our network of connections. We hear about birthdays, work anniversaries, and life events daily through alerts and emails.

It is certainly good practice to act on this information. However, a generic response ("Congratulations!") to social signals on LinkedIn or Facebook could get lost in the crowd. When it comes to social media, it's important to stand out and be noticed. Remember: It's not the information; it's how you use it.
