Performance commentary as of 12/31/20
In a very strong quarter for U.S. equities, the portfolio modestly underperformed its benchmark, the S&P500 Index. Both security selection and sector allocation decisions detracted from relative performance. A modest cash position also hurt relative performance in the strong positive markets.
Top contributing sectors included utilities, consumer discretionary, and financials. In each of these sectors, strong stock selection drove outperformance.
These strengths were offset by weakness in health care, information technology, and materials.
