W-9 Certification
Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification
If you have received a Form W-9 in the mail, you need to provide and/or certify
your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) with Putnam Investments. For most account
types this would be your social security number. If you are not sure which TIN
to provide, please refer to the below IRS Specific Instructions For Providing
The Correct TIN.
Due to Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations, Putnam is required to receive
a Form W-9 for your account. If you are not a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Resident Alien,
a Form W-8BEN is required.
If Putnam does not receive a completed Form W-9, your account(s) will be subject
to the statutory U.S. backup withholding rate on all non-Money Market redemptions,
exchanges, and dividend and capitals gains distributions until your form is provided.
To obtain another form, you may use the below Putnam Substitute Form W-9.
